Like a lot of people, the Internet crept up behind us when we were'nt
looking. Then it pounced on us, big time!
Before 1996 we were publishers of pulp fiction and graphic designers.
In fact, we're still involved in these areas (but on a much lesser
scale); take a look at rippingsf.com.
It seemed to us back then, that being able to sell books and other
products over the internet was going to be good business. So Warren
Palmer set about creating the first 'Ripping' shopping system.

Ripping World plays as hard as it works.
Not knowing much about HMTL or programming, it was a steep learning
curve!
The success of 'Ripping's' first dynamic website lead to a request
from other publishers for us to create dynamic websites for them
also.

Before we knew it, we were swept up in the Internet revolution
and developing web application, e-commerce, and dynamic websites
for numerous companies. Many of them major City firms.
We resisted the urge to become involved in the 'Dot Com' boom and
subsequent bust. Instead we chose to stick with 'organic growth'
rather than look for some overnight miracle. It's a policy that's
put us in good stead.
We're not a big company, in reality we're more akin to a 'wolf-pack'
of designers and developers. Depending on the project we work individually
with the client, or with the entire 'pack'. The aim is to be flexible,
scaleable and affordable. A bit like the web apps we create.
We've never lost sight of where we came from and we're proud of
the fact that our roots are creative rather than IT based. It enables
us to retain a sense of perspective.
We play as hard as we work. Adventure sports is big at Ripping
World! In short, we like to think we can bring a bit of 'zest' into
the 'web world'.
